Well, we graduated from UF (The University of Florida) in 2008 (most of us, at least). After leaving the halls (or atrium) of Weimer Hall, we're off to work in advertising, all across the country! Is Bud Light Rick Rolling?

I was on a subway ride sponsored by bud light today, and i noticed something about the copy. I think they took a page out of Rick Astley's book. Two of the lines of copy are as follows: Never fills you up. Never slows you down. I can see the new parody in the making: Never gonna fill you up, never gonna slow you down, never gonna turn around and...(i dunno what to put...).

Anyway, I can't find any pics of it online, so I'm gonna try and take some myself if I come across those ads again. Damn I need a camera on my phone. Maybe I'll just tape one to it.

UPDATE: I came across them in the subway on the way to Brooklyn with Liz a week ago and had my camera on me. I'm sure everyone thought I was crazy taking these pics. Oh well. I lost my SD card, but had them stored on the camera's internal memory. I just got access to another SD card, which is why they're just now making it up. Anyway, here they are, in all their glory.

I found this rant on LJ today re: your post -

3:10 pm - what
There's ads all over the Red Line for one of those popular brands of cheap American "lite" beer which only gives you a buzz after the fourth pitcher or so. Each one has a slogan on it and such, only this time around they're not superfluously labelled with the city name to earn points with the locals ("Always cool in BOSTON")

However, the two I saw next to each other on the train this morning went like this:

NEVER FILLS YOU UP
NEVER SLOWS YOU DOWN*

and I thought oh my god, the train is trying, and failing, to rickroll me. Only now I do have the song in my head, so, like, does that count? Who's keeping score here, anyway?

And then I thought oh shit, don't say that out loud, some ad dude is gonna hear this. Dammit! No! What hell have I unleashed upon this world? Auigh! Bring back the sperm donor ads, Red Line! We don't need this plague right now!

* Yes, I know the TV slogan is "Won't fill you up and never lets you down", but that's what it says on the poster ads. Maybe it's "Wears you down". Anyway. It's not "lets", that much I know.

Here's the comments, with more song lines- http://derspatchel.livejournal.com/641647.html
