In the spirit of the Gator videos below, and a classic fake ad that was actually once parodied for a real ad, I give you this:

Da na na na na.... Go Gators!
Shout-out to my good friend, super sister, and all around classy gal Deanna Lazzaroni (... and I guess while I'm at it - all my lovelies still at UF) for this:
Fletcher Martin has come up with a new and powerful campaign for the University of Florida. We all remember, and I'm sure love, the previous "Go Gator" campaign they did:
You won't find the current campaign on YouTube, but check out their Web site under the portfolio section to see the two new spots. In a word: amazing.
Also, to read more about the campaign and get some great insight, check out Deanna's blog: Satisfy the Craving. I'm so proud to call her little :)

Is this real life?
From the YouTube description:
"This is my 7 year old son who had an extra tooth removed last summer, 2008. I had the camera because he was so nervous before I wanted him to see before and after.
He was so out of it after, I had to carry him out of the office. The staff was laughing and I had tears it was so funny."
Anything I say will simply detract from the video. But I do implore everyone to take a look at his shirt.

Beating Florida State... my anti-drug

In Tallahassee for the UF/FSU game, we were walking in the pouring rain looking for a tailgate that we never found... We did, however, find this interesting piece of guerilla advertising from our good friends at Zimmerman (which I've been told is a much better agency then their sister in Fort Lauderdale. My best friend Krissy - girl in the poncho - interns there and loves it). It's for the Tobacco Free Florida campaign (I care. I don't smoke.).
It was really cool... right down to the last detail. (You can't see the sign behind her, but it says something along the lines of "don't smoke").

When football players go wrong...
Piggybacking on Sarah's post I suppose, I just caught this on ABC (sorry no embed code). And for the record- I don't like Warren Sapp, but MAN can he dance. But I guess that's what happens when you play football (or retire) you go dance! Because what else can you do with a college degree you never used and a sculped, lean body... you dance! Just like Jason Taylor, Jerry Rice and of course our own champ- Emmit Smith!

They said Heisman Trophy! Drink!
Yay! College football is here!
Looks like we might be able to run the ball this year, which would be good, being that Tim Tebow did not look impressive at all.
Defense looks better. They're getting there.
But anyway, a few of us went to Gin Mill to watch the game. And being the advertising junkies we are, we were pissed that they played random 80s music during the ads. There were a few that we specifically wanted to be able to hear. So, as promised, I give you these commercials, 80s music free (though the song in the Dr. Pepper commercial is somewhat dated).

R-E-A-D-A-B-O-OKAYYYYYYY!
Wow, 2 posts in one day. I must have a lot to talk about. Let's see...
So I went in to work today and was greeted by an amusing little thing taped on my computer screen. I really liked it, so I thought I would share it with everyone else. Yesterday, a couple signs posted on the walls around the office announced the arrival of the BBDO Library, coming next week to the 6th floor stairwell. The signs said "Bring a book. Take a book. Bring back a book. Step and repeat." or something to that nature. So today I get in and this little guy was taped on my computer screen:

I found it amusing, but it didn't stop there. I proceeded to pull the card out:

So even though I'm sick and felt godawful today, this little guy was there to brighten my spirits at the very beginning of the day. And it was a very light work day, due to the fact that all the higherups are in Turkey right now, and all the projects my team is currently working on our pretty much out of our hands for the time being.
OH! And I'm no longer in that cubicle! I'm now in an office! Albeit a shared office, but it still feels cooler. My office mate is named Casey. She's pretty cool, though a couple different people warned me that she snores. There's an inflatable penguin in our office, and I asked if it had a name (it doesn't), so now I have the task of naming it. And my office is now Gator-iffic with all these different SI covers and stuff posted on the walls (thanks Nicole!). Best part of that - this one guy's a big Ohio State fan, and he walked by and saw it and was like oh hell no! So there's one little rivalry starting up. And I met a girl that went to FSU that had my dad, so its becoming a small world around there (and that started another fun little rivalry). AND I finally met the other Gator that works on Gillette, Nicole Minton. I think she graduated 04. She said she was a research assistant for Sutherland at one point. So yeah, the world just became even smaller.
I swear I had something else that I wanted to share with anyone, but I can't remember. I blame the antibiotics. Possible side effects: Confusion, Forgetfulness (not listed on the bottle, only listed in Physician's Desk Reference or some other insanely large book about meds my mom has...but it seems to happen to me sometimes when I'm on these)
