For all you Facebook book addicts (don't look around, I'm talking to you). Facebook, in its endeavor to stay at the cusp of the digital world and social networking, has developed a redesign. Even as a cynic, I like it.

it switched on me right in the middle of browsing the site last night...i dont like it...wall/minifeed in one? really? and you can't drag/drop/collapse app boxes on profiles...very annoying
I honestly feel like they have nothing to do in silicone valley. but then again it probably has something to do with advertising so maybe it's good for us...
I'm glad I don't have to stare at all the ridiculous apps, bumper stickers and the rest of the clutter everyone bitched about ages ago (you can add a tab if you're really in love with it). The mini-feed/wall merge gives me everything I need in one location.
I like and dislike it:
For someone who hates pages with nine million apps, the new tabs are rather nice. You can segregate the apps into another tab, and makes the information on one page (thus, no scrolling).
However, as someone who enjoys tweaking my facebook page and having control over it, I hate it. This combination of the wall and feed makes the front page of my facebook so busy. The feed is just impossible to navigate now.
Furthermore, I didn't have a lot on my facebook page, but there were two things that I liked having on it - my graffiti wall and my LOLCats generator. Now? My graffiti wall is a tiny midget, and my LOLCats generator is relegated to the boonies of my facebook.
So, I'm on old facebook now. Sorry, but this whole wall/feed mash-up is just like combining a cupcake and a steak. They're both great on their own but not combined.
I FEAR CHANGE! (except pennies, from now on I'm paying for everything in pennies)!!
I'm not one to be opposed to change, so the facebook update, while surprising, isn't that bad. I like the layout, it's exponentially cleaner and easier to take information in. I've been trying to think of a strong design way to fix the wall/feed but coming up blank. I do miss the "Friends in other networks" so I can see who lives where by city, as opposed to school, and who has friends in those cities as well. And I don't give a shit what "Groups" people are in, and you can't minimize that anymore.
